You will hear a man talking to an official at a tourist information office.
Official (n): Nhân viên chính thức - A person holding a position of authority, especially in a government or organization.
Man (n): Người đàn ông - An adult human male.
Tourist (n): Khách du lịch - A person who travels to a place for pleasure.
Man: Yes, I was wanting somewhere to stay for a few days - a four or five star hotel. Can you tell me something about the possibilities?
- Stay (v): Ở lại - To live or remain in a place temporarily.
- Possibilities (n): Khả năng - Opportunities or options that could happen.
Official: OK, right, well there are five hotels that might interest you. Were you wanting a city centre location, or would you be interested in something a bit further out?
- Interest (v): Gây hứng thú - To attract or engage someone's attention.
- Location (n): Vị trí - A particular place or position.
Man: Well, I do have a car so I could go for either.
Official: Well, there are two central hotels in the range you're looking for – there's Carlton House and The Imperial, they're both near the main square, but if you've got your own transport, you might be interested in the Royal Oak – that’s out in the country, about ten kilometres away, very peaceful. Then there's the Bridge hotel and the Majestic – they're both in town but not in the centre, they're out on the airport road.
- Square (n): Quảng trường - An open area in a city, often surrounded by buildings.
- Transport (n): Phương tiện di chuyển - A way of traveling or carrying goods.
- Country (n): Nông thôn - An area outside of cities, often rural.
- Peaceful (adj): Yên bình - Quiet and calm, without noise or worry.
- Centre (n): Trung tâm - The middle or main area of a city or town.
- Airport road (n): Đường ra sân bay - The road leading to or from the airport.
Man: Mmm, that might be a bit far out actually. OK, now the other two you mentioned, in the city centre. Can you tell me a bit about them?
Official: Well, they're both excellent hotels. If you want something with a bit of character, Carlton House is quite unusual – it's a very old building that was originally a large private house, it was bought by the Vannis chain and they completely refurbished it – they took their first guests just a few months ago but it's already got an excellent reputation. That's a five star hotel. Or there's the Imperial, which is a much more modern building. That's also has its own gym and it also has internet connection and meeting rooms – it's used for conferences and corporate events as well as private guests. That's five star as well.
- Character (n): Đặc trưng - Distinctive features that make something unique.
- Unusual (adj): Độc đáo, không bình thường - Not typical or common.
- Chain (n): Chuỗi (khách sạn, cửa hàng) - A group of businesses owned by the same company.
- Refurbished (v): Tân trang - To renovate or redecorate something.
- Reputation (n): Danh tiếng - The opinion people have about something or someone.
- Modern (adj): Hiện đại - Relating to the present or recent times.
- Gym (n): Phòng tập thể dục - A place equipped for physical exercise.
- Conferences (n): Hội nghị - Large formal meetings where people discuss a particular topic.
- Corporate events (n): Sự kiện công ty - Gatherings organized by businesses.
Man: Does it have a swimming pool as well as a gym?
Official: No – the Royal Oak has an outdoor pool, which is lovely in the summer, but the only hotel with an indoor pool is the Bridge Hotel. It doesn't have a gym though. The Majestic is planning to build a swimming pool and a fitness centre, but it's not finished yet.
- Outdoor (adj): Ngoài trời - Located outside a building.
- Indoor (adj): Trong nhà - Located inside a building.
- Fitness centre (n): Trung tâm thể dục - A place with facilities for exercise and fitness activities.
Man: I see. Well, I think I'll probably go for one of the city centre hotels.

When it comes to our tents, these are equipped (được trang bị) to the highest standard. We really do think of every essential (cần thiết) detail from an oven and cooking rings fueled (được cung cấp nhiên liệu bởi) by bottled gas to mirrors in the bedroom areas.
If you don't want to cook indoors, you can borrow a barbecue (bếp nướng ngoài trời), if you ask in advance for one to be made available, and there's even a picnic blanket (chăn dã ngoại) to sit on outside your tent. Inside, a box of games (trò chơi) and toys (đồ chơi) can be found, and children's tents can be hired (được thuê) if required.
All tents have a fridge (tủ lạnh), and if you want to spend the day on the beach, for example, ask for a specially-designed camping cool box (thùng làm lạnh khi đi cắm trại), which will keep your food and drinks chilled (lạnh).
There are excellent (tuyệt vời) washing facilities at all our sites, with washing machines (máy giặt) and clothes lines (dây phơi quần áo) in the central areas, along with mops (cây lau nhà) and buckets (xô), in case your tent needs cleaning during your stay. All sites have a cafe (quán cà phê) and/or a shop for those who'd rather eat in than dine (ăn uống, dùng bữa) at a local restaurant.>> Form đăng kí giải đề thi thật IELTS 4 kĩ năng kèm bài giải bộ đề 100 đề PART 2 IELTS SPEAKING quý đang thi (update hàng tuần) từ IELTS TUTOR

Experiment 1
Don’t you think it’s a bit risky (risky - nguy hiểm, mạo hiểm: involving a chance of something bad happening) to get a group of eight year olds pushing each other around the classroom like that? Someone could get hurt.
Experiment 2
I think it needs to be something a bit more active (active - năng động: involving movement, effort, or energy) and interested (interested - thu hút, hứng thú: giving attention or showing curiosity) than that.
Experiment 3
When we did it at high school, we had to wait up to a fortnight (fortnight - hai tuần: a period of two weeks) before we solved any halfway (halfway - ở giữa, trung bình: at or near the middle of something) distance result.
Experiment 4
Don’t you think it’s a bit ambitious (ambitious - tham vọng, đầy thử thách: requiring great effort or ability to achieve) for this age group?
Bài 4
You will hear a manager from an engineering company talking to a group of new trainees. First, you have some time to look at question 1-5. Now listen carefully and answer questions 1-5.
Ah, good morning, everyone. My name's Jeremy Armstrong, and I'm in charge of your training programme (chương trình đào tạo) here at Coppersmith Engineering, manufacturers (nhà sản xuất) of what we like to think are the world's best diesel engines (động cơ diesel tốt nhất thế giới). I'll start by giving you a very brief background (bối cảnh/tiểu sử ngắn) to the company.
Right. Now, the founder (người sáng lập), John Coppersmith, was born locally (tại địa phương) in 1910. In 1932, he started making bicycles in a shed (nhà kho nhỏ) at the bottom of his garden. This proved so successful that two years later, he rented a small factory unit (xưởng nhỏ) and set up Coppersmith Engineering — so we date back to (có từ) 1934. And since then, we've produced over ten million engines.
As you probably know, the engines we manufacture are not for cars, but for vehicles (phương tiện) used in industry and agriculture. In the last few years, we've also made engines that are used to power (cung cấp năng lượng cho) boats, including police launches and lifeboats.
Another fairly new (khá mới mẻ) development is that ten years ago, we set up a joint venture (liên doanh) with a Japanese manufacturer and as a result, we're seeing a big rise in turnover (doanh thu) while keeping production costs steady (ổn định).
Of course, this success gives us great confidence (sự tự tin) in the future, and so we're currently in the middle of a five-year plan to improve the buildings we have here. We've just completed a new test facility (cơ sở thử nghiệm), and as you were coming in, you probably noticed the site where we're constructing an office block (tòa nhà văn phòng). At present, our desk-based (làm việc tại bàn giấy) staff are in several buildings, and they're all due to move into the new one in six months' time.
Oh, and er, just one more point I'd like to mention: our goal has always been to achieve top quality (chất lượng hàng đầu) in everything we do, so when we received an award (giải thưởng) last month from the city council, naming us 'best employer,' we were very proud indeed.
Bài 5
You will hear the manager of a hotel talking to new recruits on a work experience scheme. Look at the tasks then listen and answer questions 1 to 5.
Hello and welcome to Grangefoot Hotels. I hope you're going to enjoy taking part in our work experience program (chương trình thực tập làm việc: a program that allows participants to gain practical experience in a real work environment) this summer. I'm here to give you information (thông tin: facts or details about something) and tell you about the key members of staff (những nhân viên chủ chốt: important employees in an organization) who you are likely to be dealing with. Naturally, you will each have a line manager (quản lý trực tiếp: a supervisor in charge of employees in a specific area) depending on the part of the hotel you're working in and the nature (bản chất: the type or characteristics of something) of work you'll be doing, but it's also important to know who's who and who's responsible for what areas.
Now one person you've already had dealings with is Damien Rose, he's in charge of (phụ trách: responsible for) recruitment and staff issues whether you're working in the kitchen or front of house. He's the person to go to if you have any queries (câu hỏi hoặc thắc mắc: questions or doubts) about your salary or terms and conditions of service. Damien's office is behind reception on the ground floor and he shares it with Clara Ford.
Now Clara's the person to go to for other financial issues (vấn đề tài chính: problems or matters related to money), like anything to do with payments from guests or to suppliers. Clara doesn't deal with the details of guest bookings (đặt phòng của khách: reservations made by guests) in terms of room allocation and special requests, but she does deal with quotes (báo giá: estimates of costs) for events and for invoicing (việc xuất hóa đơn: the process of creating or sending bills for payment).
If you're in the kitchen and the dining room, you'll need to liaise closely (phối hợp chặt chẽ: to work together and communicate effectively) with Petra Snell. Now Petra doesn't do the cooking nor is she the head waiter, but rather she co-ordinates (điều phối: organizes and manages activities) all of the activities concerned with providing food and drink to our guests and she'll be taking direct responsibility for those of you on work placements in those areas.
Similarly, Oliver Ansell has responsibility for large bookings (các đặt phòng lớn: reservations for significant events), such as when the hotel is the venue (địa điểm tổ chức: the place where an event happens) for weddings and conferences. He makes sure that we all pull together (hợp tác: work as a team) to make those run smoothly. I'm sure you'll all be involved with some of those events in the next few months.
And finally, that brings us to Luca Petronelli. Luca's in charge of front of house (khu vực tiền sảnh: the area of a business, such as a hotel, where employees interact directly with customers), so if you're working there welcoming guests when they arrive, giving information about meal times, the payment of extras, etc., you'll certainly be working with him. So that just leaves me to...
Bài 6
"So I've been looking at institutions (các cơ sở: organizations or establishments providing a particular service, especially in education or training) in the area that offer basic courses in art appreciation and found this quite a lot of variation (sự khác biệt: differences or changes in condition, amount, or level) but no clear winner.
Pilkington College offers a traditional (truyền thống: long-established and based on old-fashioned ideas) course with a series of rather dry (nhàm chán: dull and uninteresting) lectures from a variety of teachers, each talking about his or her specialist (chuyên gia: a person highly skilled in a specific area) area. The coverage (sự bao quát: the extent to which something is dealt with) of topics is a bit random (ngẫu nhiên: lacking any definite plan or order) therefore, with no attempt to cover a particular syllabus (giáo trình: an outline of topics to be covered in a course). I'd say go to Pilkington if you're looking to get access to its excellent (xuất sắc: extremely good) library with its thousands of books and pleasant environment to sit and read but perhaps not for the course itself.
The City Study Centre has none of those resources but its downtown (trung tâm thành phố: located in the central area of a city) location makes it the ideal choice for anyone dependent (phụ thuộc: needing someone or something for support) on public transport or hoping to go along after work. The course itself is almost wholly exam preparation however, and so is not very suitable for beginners (người mới bắt đầu: people who are new to a subject) or those looking for an overview (tổng quan: a general review or summary) of the subject.
Gladstone University offers art appreciation courses to the general public which take place at weekends. The course are organized as workshops (hội thảo: sessions in which participants actively engage in discussions or activities) in which participation (sự tham gia: the act of taking part in something) is expected which might not suit everybody, although the teachers are on hand to give lots of personal feedback and make sure things keep focused. What makes these classes attractive (hấp dẫn: appealing or interesting), however, is the systematic (có hệ thống: done in an organized and methodical way) way. All major artistic movements (trường phái nghệ thuật: styles or trends in art) are covered, making it an excellent starting place for the beginner.>> IELTS TUTOR hướng dẫn PHÂN TÍCH ĐỀ THI 30/5/2020 IELTS WRITING TASK 2 (kèm bài sửa HS đạt 6.5)
Roseborough College offers online courses which focus on particular periods (thời kỳ: spans of time in history) of art history. The flexible organization means they're perfect for anyone wanting to specialize (chuyên về: concentrate on and become an expert in a particular subject) in one particular area but less good for anyone doing an exam, although there is the chance to get one-to-one feedback on individual assignments. The lack of face-to-face contact with a tutor is something of a drawback (hạn chế: a disadvantage or problem).
The International Learning Centre also offers courses in their well-equipped classrooms at the Business Park. The location won't suit people who don't have use of a car but the course itself is very focused. The syllabus is much the same as you'd find anywhere, but the combination of inspiring (truyền cảm hứng: motivating or exciting) presentations on key topics, excellent online support, and personal feedback on assignments, really mark (làm nổi bật: to distinguish or highlight) this course out as special.
Finally, Bevington University offers part-time courses, but they're not cheap. In terms of prestige (uy tín: high reputation or status), this is the one to go for, particularly since you get a certificate at the end of it. The chance to study in these beautiful ancient surroundings (môi trường xung quanh: the environment or area around a place) whilst taking advantage of the purpose-built interactive classroom is not to be missed, even if a rather narrow selection of artistic movements is actually studied on each program of seminars."
Bài 7
You will hear 2 students, Janet and Armet talking about doing research.
Armet: But, can you tell me about your experience ...say... of doing the research question?
(Research question: Câu hỏi nghiên cứu - the specific question a researcher aims to answer in their study.)
Janet: I thought I would have difficulty turning my idea into a research question, but it wasn't as bad as I thought. In fact, I found it extremely easy.
(Turning into: Biến thành - to change something into another form or state.)
Armet: Okay, I might ask for your help on that, then. What about the literature review?
(Literature review: Tổng quan tài liệu - an evaluation of existing research related to a particular topic.)
Janet: A literature review that I found really took up a lot of time. Although we can eat into the time, I actually like digging into things and getting to the bottom of problems.
- Eat into: Tiêu tốn, ngốn (to use up a large part of something, such as time or money).
- Dig into: Tìm hiểu sâu, đào sâu (to search deeply into something, especially for information).
Armet: Yes, I agree, it can be fun. I'm reading a lot to try and get myself to frame my research question, and I'm really getting into the literature.
- Frame: Định hình, xây dựng (to create or formulate an idea or question).
- Literature: Tài liệu nghiên cứu, văn học (written works, especially those related to a specific field or topic).
Janet: Well, the thing I was very glad to get out of the way ...was writing the research proposal. I was exhausted after that because it's important to make sure the research proposal is really clear on the focus of your research.
- Out of the way: Hoàn thành, không phải làm nữa (finished or no longer needing attention).
- Research proposal: Đề xuất nghiên cứu (a detailed plan for a research project).
It's not easy summarizing everything and bringing it together.
(Bringing it together: Kết hợp mọi thứ lại - to combine different parts into a whole.)
Armet: And designing the methods?
(Methods: Phương pháp - the techniques or procedures used in a research study.)
Janet: That was quite easy to do. I enjoy analyzing systems and adding them together, so I think I started the method design out really quickly. What I found really was agonizing was writing the aims and objectives at all.
- Analyzing systems: Phân tích hệ thống (examining the components of a system).
- Adding them together: Tổng hợp lại (to combine or sum up).
- Agonizing: Đau đầu, khó khăn (causing great difficulty or distress).
- Aims and objectives: Mục tiêu và đích đến (the goals and intended outcomes of a research study).
That would be probably the most difficult thing of all.
Armet: Yeah, they aren't easy.
